Steps away, yet a world apart from the bustle of the City, Governors Island is in the heart of New York Harbor and has outstanding views of Lower Manhattan, Brooklyn, and the Statue of Liberty. Only a seven minute ferry ride away and with 13 acres of playing fields and additional outdoor and indoor spaces, Governors Island could be a great venue for your next event or corporate picnic.

Spaces on Governors Island

Governors Island has several outstanding outdoor locations as well as limited indoor spaces that are ideal for corporate picnics, field days, or other events. These spaces include more than a dozen acres of baseball fields, volleyball and basketball courts on the Island’s southern end, as well as various green lawns and open spaces in the Historic District. Filming on Governors Island

Permits must be obtained prior to undertaking regulated activities. Applications to conduct regulated activities or uses must be submitted at least ten (10) business days in advance of the planned event, activity or use. Regulated activities include, but are not limited to, field use, commercial or film/photography, and special events.
