There are many opportunities to get involved and
be a part of the future for Governors Island. The
Governors Island Preservation and Education
Corporation is committed to simultaneously
preserving and enriching this unique destination.
Public Meetings Schedule:
GIPEC holds public meetings to discuss the planning process. There are
currently no public meetings scheduled, but please

details of the next scheduled meeting as well as to
access the presentation and panels from earlier
meetings.
Volunteer Opportunities:
Orientation begins in May 2010
Starting next spring, GIPEC will seek volunteers for the 2009 season in the
following areas:
- Ambassadors: welcome and direct visitors to the Island, provide
information about daily activities and facilities, help with events.
- Other Opportunities may take advantage of your special skills, just
let us know.
